We are fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK
After one of our colleagues lost her husband to Pancreatic Cancer after a 4 year battle at the age of 55, we at work decided to support the charities month, which was throughout November.
Our main aim was to raise awareness of this fast acting disease for which there is no specific treatment (you must diagnose it quickly) and also to raise funds for research.
A huge well done to KOK’s Director John Okey for completing his November challenge to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer awareness month.
John set himself the challenge of running each day, building up to a 10 mile run on the 30th November. During the course of his training he covered a total distance of 100 miles, which is a great achievement as he is not a regular runner and has faced some pretty miserable weather along the way!
John, on behalf of KOK has raised £3,054 which will make such an incredible impact and we would like to thank all who donated.
Together, PCUK has raised £270,514 so far! This could fund over 2 years of research into early detection and better treatments and provide health professionals with the tools they need to spot patients’ symptoms earlier.
