After a three month consultation period and in response to Professor Löfstedt’s independent review of health and safety legislation ”˜Reclaiming Health and Safety for all’, the HSE has now published the revised Approved Code of Practice ”“ L143 “Managing and Working with Asbestos”.
ACoPs L127 (The Management of Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises) and L143 (Work with Materials Containing Asbestos) have been consolidated into one single revised ACoP L143 which has also been updated to make it easier for employers to understand and meet their legal obligations, and to reflect the changes introduced in The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.The revised ACoP is available on the HSE website at: www.hse.gsi.gov.uk
